Puur Natuur Pseudopregnancy (False Pregnancy) 50 ml
For mood swings and discomfort during and after heat/cycle in dogs and rabbits.

Supplementary feed for Cat, Dog, Rodent.

Composition:
Extracts of common sage (Salvia officinalis) and oat (Avena sativa). Diluted extract of asafoetida (Asa foetida). Alcohol 29% v/v.

Indication(s):
For an optimal hormonal balance in bitches and to counteract various types of pseudopregnancy behaviour.

Although many of our dogs bear little resemblance to the wild wolf in appearance, the essence of much dog behaviour has remained the same as that of their wild ancestors. One of these legacies is that many modern domestic dogs, even though they do not live in a pack and there is no alpha female to help with suckling (the original purpose of pseudopregnancy in wolf packs), exhibit the same pseudopregnancy behaviour.

Often, the first sign is that bitches start behaving differently after going into heat. In fertilised animals, progesterone levels begin to rise from that period onwards; the same happens in unfertilised, pseudopregnant bitches. After giving birth, these progesterone levels drop again, and the hormone prolactin stimulates milk production. This hormone also influences the behaviour of bitches.

Many pseudopregnant bitches like to withdraw, or even want to make a den, become snappy, eat less well, and are less eager to go outside. Other bitches become annoyingly clingy or very whiny.

Some bitches even search for surrogate children and drag anything that could pass for a puppy, such as socks, slippers, or toys, to their 'nest'.

Pseudopregnancy can be a very unpleasant period, both for the bitch and for the owner.

PUUR Pseudopregnancy normalises the abnormal behaviour of the bitch during this period.

Properties per ingredient:
Relaxing for inner restlessness and against discomfort around the heat period.

Common sage (Salvia officinalis) reduces mammary gland swelling.

Oat (Avena sativa) has a relaxing effect on inner restlessness.

Asafoetida (Asa foetida) is calming and helps with mood swings. It is beneficial for a good mental balance.

Dosage and application:
Unless otherwise prescribed by a vet or therapist, 3 times daily:

Dog: 10-15 drops
Rabbit: 3-5 drops

1ml = 20 drops.

The product can be given directly or with some water using a plastic spoon or syringe into the mouth. It can also be dripped onto a treat. Give PUUR Pseudopregnancy at least half an hour before or after food, so that it can be absorbed through the clean oral mucous membrane. Start administering PUUR Pseudopregnancy at the end of the heat period and continue until the time when the pseudopregnancy would normally have subsided. In cases of very severe pseudopregnancy, it may be advisable to start using PUUR Pseudopregnancy during the heat period. When PUUR Pseudopregnancy is used at the moment a bitch shows signs of pseudopregnancy, the remedy should take effect after approximately 3 days to a week. If no effect is noticeable, the dose should be increased to a maximum of double the dosage.

PUUR Pseudopregnancy can be used safely in combination with other medicines.

In a single case, a harmless and short-term worsening of symptoms may occur at the beginning of taking the drops. This indicates that the animal is reacting intensively to the remedy. If this worsening is bothersome, you should halve the recommended dose for your animal or skip a dose. If you believe you have observed a side effect, please report it to your veterinarian or therapist.

Advice for use Start administering PUUR Pseudopregnancy at the end of the heat period. For rabbits, PUUR Pseudopregnancy is given if necessary.

Duration of treatment
In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can vary from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, continue administering this product for a few more days.

For long-term discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, a maintenance dose can be adopted. This is usually half of the indicated dosage on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully observe the animal's reaction. A higher dosage may be necessary initially; this product can be safely given at double the dosage. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible dose.

This product can be given continuously (rabbit). It is advisable to take a break week after every 6 to 8 weeks. This way, the 'stimulus' can be offered again after the break week. Resume treatment immediately if there is a reason to do so.
