Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruits

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruits can be good for the dog's immune system, but they can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Airedale Terrier specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Airedale Terrier. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Airedale Terrier belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Airedale Terrier.

Licorice root

Licorice root is derived from the Greek glyks for "sweet" and rhiza for "root"; it is also known as Glycyrrhiza glabra. The plant originated in Eurasia, North Africa, and West Asia. Licorice has long been attributed medicinal properties, and the root is often used for making herbal tea.

Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and is also said to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. In addition, it can contribute to the recovery of the gastric mucosa and is said to be good for a sensitive gastrointestinal system.

Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, of which the common nettle and the small nettle occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying effect. According to various sources, nettle is antibacterial and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the function of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it supports the bladder and the dog's hair growth.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building block that is part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair, and nails, among other things. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and ensures the maintenance of healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as to preventing digestive and/or urination problems.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the formation of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.

At Yourdog, we add carrots to the dog food because this can positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat and skin. But also to promote good vision and healthy digestion.

Feeding advice

Body weight (kg) Daily amount (g)
10 - 20 190 - 315
20 - 40 315 - 525
40 - 60 525 - 750

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Airedale Terrier dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place the entire bag, which you close as well as possible, in the container.
