Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it is easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-roaming, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Basenji-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Basenji. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Basenji belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Basenji.
Fennel
Fennel is a plant from the parsley family and can be recognised by its aniseed flavour. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.
Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. For example, it contains a lot of vitamins A and C and the minerals iron and potassium.
Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heath family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. Originally from North America, it is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C acidifies the urine, making the bladder environment less attractive to bacteria. The addition of cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a positive effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions.
Mango
Mango belongs to the genus Mangifera and probably originated in northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a stone fruit with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.
This delicious summery treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene and alpha-carotene. Furthermore, mango contains many healthy dietary fibres that contribute to strengthening the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant (vitamin C) contributes to supporting vital bodily functions. Vitamin A is full of beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve vision.
We add mango to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's resistance and healthy digestion. In addition, mango can support the dog's vision.

Feeding Advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
| 20 - 40 | 315 - 525 |
| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost entirely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Basenji dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
