Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be better processed into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Drentsche patrijs. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Drentsche patrijs belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Drentsche patrijs.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain fluid, which should provide sponge-like cushioning in the cartilage.

Chondroitin improves the flexibility of cartilage and also has a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, it stimulates the production of the building blocks that serve healthy cartilage.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word "banaana" from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. Including vitamin A, C, and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. At Yourdog, we use tomato at a culinary level, whereby we consider tomato as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fibre content which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, to which tomatoes owe their red colour. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red colour, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular disease. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular disease. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Drentsche patrijs dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Drentsche patrijs is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Drentsche patrijs older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Drentsche patrijs senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Drentsche patrijs does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Drentsche patrijs dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to put it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
