Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from European plants. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae has a history dating back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

German Shorthaired Pointer specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the German Shorthaired Pointer. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the German Shorthaired Pointer belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the German Shorthaired Pointer.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a substance naturally found in the body, present in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage and keeps joints supple.

Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older dogs or overweight dogs but increasingly also for younger, very active dogs, for example, due to a genetic predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the most important components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is capable of attracting and retaining moisture, which should provide a sponge-like cushioning in the cartilage.

Chondroitin improves the flexibility of cartilage and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, it stimulates the production of building blocks necessary for healthy cartilage.

If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the effect of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and primarily grow in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibers for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our German Shorthaired Pointer dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your German Shorthaired Pointer is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variety. For a German Shorthaired Pointer older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog German Shorthaired Pointer senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variety.

If your German Shorthaired Pointer doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost entirely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog German Shorthaired Pointer dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as best as possible, into the bin.
