Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Grand bleu de gascogne specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Grand bleu de gascogne. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Grand bleu de gascogne belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Grand bleu de gascogne.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a genus of the composite family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "earth apple" and refers to its apple scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.

Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food by us because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation and urinary tract.

Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion". It can have an antispasmodic and antiseptic effect.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the parsley family and can be recognized by its anise flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for centuries for their medicinal properties.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is also rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally from North America, it is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. The addition of cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Grand bleu de gascogne dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
