Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruits

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Istarski ostrodlaki gonic specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Istarski ostrodlaki gonic. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Istarski ostrodlaki gonic belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Istarski ostrodlaki gonic.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where Œbasileus means king, so the alternative name is also king's herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions such as arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. Additionally, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on the dog.

Tomato

Tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomato at a culinary level, considering tomato as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content that aids digestion. Tomato also contains lycopene, which gives tomatoes their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, tomato contains a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Cranberry

Cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are, among other things, rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C acidifies the urine, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions.
