Our ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for every 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and it is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide your dog with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in your dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific issues can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Komondor-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Komondor. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Komondor belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Komondor.

Marigold

Marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its diverse medicinal properties for ages. The original calendula species likely grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now rarely found in the wild. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

Much information can be found about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to our dog food as it may positively contribute to preventing breed-specific issues related to skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for skin and mucous membrane recovery, acts as an anti-inflammatory, and has a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.

Calendula is primarily used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerating properties.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the commonly known edible apples grow, primarily in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibers have versatile effects in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibers also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel function but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures muscle and bone development during the young years.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of cross-breeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for capillary development and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. Additionally, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.

At Yourdog, we add carrot to the dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific issues related to the dog's coat and skin. But also for promoting good vision and healthy digestion.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Komondor dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Komondor is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Komondor older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Komondor senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Palatability Guarantee

We are convinced of the quality of our food. Therefore, we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Komondor doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we can't resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Komondor dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible, into the container.
