Our ingredients

To produce our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Standard Poodle-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Standard Poodle. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Standard Poodle belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Standard Poodle.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the carrot family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of ailments that parsley combats. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhoea, anaemia, and ear infections. It is full of iron, more than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.

At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to blood, heart, and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A, and K. This can contribute to the immune system and eyes and can support the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, which keeps the dog's bladder free from contamination.

Celery

Celery is a plant from the carrot family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fibre, and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on the skin and coat, the functioning of muscles and nerves through vitamin A, and maintaining strong bones through vitamin K.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the well-known hand apples grow, especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates the function of the intestines but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble, and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the young years.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose the right variant of our Standard Poodle dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Standard Poodle is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Standard Poodle older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Standard Poodle senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Standard Poodle doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, we will refund your purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Standard Poodle dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible, into the bin.
