Our ingredients

For the production of our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be better processed into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Kromfohrländer-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Kromfohrländer. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Kromfohrländer belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Kromfohrländer.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and is recognizable by its anise flavour. The thread-like branches of its leaves are often used as an herb, and its seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C, and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and combat bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Yucca

This plant grows in the deserts of Southwest America and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used by the Native Americans in these areas as medicine against rheumatism and arthritis for centuries. It inhibits pain and inflammation in the joints.

Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis, the intestines, and the heart. Yucca can also reduce the strong smell of faeces and relieve foul-smelling flatulence.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the commonly known hand apples grow, especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have versatile effects in the digestive tract. They are capable of absorbing moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough elimination of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamin A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the early years.

Feeding Advice

Bodyweight (kg) Daily amount (g)
10 - 20 190 - 315
20 - 40 315 - 525
40 - 60 525 - 750

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Kromfohrländer dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible, into the bin.
