Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae has its origins thousands of years ago. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Luzerner laufhund specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Luzerner laufhund. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Luzerner laufhund belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Luzerner laufhund.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a genus of the daisy family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "earth apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.

Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tract.

Chamomile can have a mild soothing effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion." It can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.

Basil

Basil is a genus of the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "basileus" means king, so an alternative name is king's herb. It is originally found between Central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain, among other things. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on dogs.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heath family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally from North America, it is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C acidifies the urine, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a positive effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among others.

Feeding Advice

Body weight (kg) Daily amount (g)
10 - 20 190 - 315
20 - 40 315 - 525
40 - 60 525 - 750

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Luzerner laufhund dog food at your discretion.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
