Our Ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

Vegetables

Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Neapolitan Mastiff-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Neapolitan Mastiff. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Neapolitan Mastiff belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Neapolitan Mastiff.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin is naturally found in the dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain fluid, which should provide a spongy cushioning in the cartilage.

Chondroitin improves the flexibility of cartilage and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, it stimulates the production of building blocks for healthy cartilage.

If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the action of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.

Celery

Celery is a plant from the carrot family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the immune system and digestion of the dog. It can also have a positive effect on the skin and coat, the functioning of muscles and nerves due to vitamin A, and maintaining strong bones due to vitamin K.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fiber for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. They can support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Neapolitan Mastiff dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Neapolitan Mastiff is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variety. For a Neapolitan Mastiff older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Neapolitan Mastiff senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variety.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, you can feed 100% Yourdog Neapolitan Mastiff dog food at your own discretion.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
