Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruits can be good for the dog's immune system, and can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, its breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Romanian Shepherd Dog specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Romanian Shepherd Dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Romanian Shepherd Dog belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Romanian Shepherd Dog.

Calendula

Calendula (marigold) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the Asteraceae family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its various medicinal properties for many years. The original calendula species probably originated in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now rarely found in the wild. Calendula is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is much information available about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for the recovery of the skin and mucous membranes, it is anti-inflammatory and has a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.

Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerating properties.

Thyme

Thyme is a genus in the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme was used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb against lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumors, headaches, colic, and nervous weaknesses.

The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by the high levels of vitamin K it contains. In addition, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fiber.

Thyme is anti-inflammatory and has a powerful antibacterial and fungicidal effect. In addition, it stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.

At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural antibacterial agent.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the common apples, well-known especially in the northern hemisphere, grow. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a versatile effect on the digestive tract. It is able to absorb moisture, making the stool soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel function but also ensures a thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that contributes to supporting healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble, and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures muscle and bone development during the young years.

Feeding advice

40 - 60 525 - 750
> 60 11 g/kg body weight

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Romanian Shepherd Dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
