Our ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also possess other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, aid digestion.

The healthy herbs enriching our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated by the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Spanish dog. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Spanish dog belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Spanish dog.

Marigold

Marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its various medicinal properties for centuries. The original calendula species likely originated in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now rarely found in the wild. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is much information available about the positive effects of calendula. We can add calendula to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for the recovery of skin and mucous membranes, it has anti-inflammatory properties, and a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.

Calendula is primarily used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerating properties.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the carrot family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley combats. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhea, anemia, and ear infections. It is packed with iron, more so than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C, and carotene.

At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to blood, heart, and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A, and K. This can contribute to the immune system and eyes, and can support the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, which keeps the dog's bladder free of impurities.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical regions where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'banana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and promote more good bacteria in the intestines.

Puppy, Adult, or Senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Spanish dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Spanish dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Spanish dog older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Spanish dog senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. Therefore, we provide a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Spanish dog does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three more days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Spanish dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
