Our Ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the gut and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Welsh Corgi Cardigan specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Welsh Corgi Cardigan. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Welsh Corgi Cardigan belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Welsh Corgi Cardigan.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a substance naturally occurring in the body, found in joints, cartilage, joint fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates cartilage production and keeps joints flexible.

Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older dogs or (overweight) dogs but increasingly for younger, very active dogs as well. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Marigold

The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the composite family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its various medicinal properties for centuries. The original calendula species likely originated in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now hardly found in the wild. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

Much information can be found about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to our dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for skin and mucous membrane recovery, has anti-inflammatory properties, and a regenerative effect. It can also prevent cramps during digestion.

Calendula is primarily used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerative properties.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the generally known eating apples grow, especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have diverse effects in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibres. Additionally, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C promotes muscle and bone development during the early years.

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Welsh Corgi Cardigan dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
